College Football 24-25: Week 11 Review

The U Falls (Georgia Tech 28, #4 Miami 23)
Miami has been flirting with danger several times this season. They needed big comebacks against Virginia Tech and Cal in recent weeks and Duke last week to remain perfect. They were on borrowed time and Georgia Tech was the fortunate benefactor. Cam Ward wasn't efficient for most of the game but managed to throw for 348 yards and three touchdowns, keeping a potential Heisman candidacy intact. Still, the Hurricanes' defense didn't have an answer for the Yellow Jackets' run game. The Hurricanes' perfect season is out the window, but they are still in a prime position to control their destiny on the road to Charlotte.

Fun in the SEC
#16 Ole Miss 28, #2 Georgia 10- Maybe Georgia isn't as strong as we initially believed. The Bulldogs scored on their opening drive after forcing an interception. After that, nothing. Ole Miss' defense held Georgia under 250 yards and completed the upset by kicking five field goals. The Bulldogs have two losses in conference play, putting their destiny in other teams' hands. 

#11 Alabama 42, #14 LSU 13- Just when we thought Alabama was dead, they storm into Baton Rouge and beat the snot out of LSU. Jalen Milroe used his legs to score four times, rushing for 185 yards. The Crimson Tide never looked to be in danger on Saturday, handing Brian Kelly his first night loss since arriving at LSU.

"Old Habits Die Hard:" 2024-25 Regular Season, Game 37: Hurricanes at Columbus Blue Jackets

For the final time in 2024, the Hurricanes hit the ice. For their New Year's Eve battle, they traveled to Columbus for their third meeting of the campaign against the Blue Jackets. With a split through two meetings, the goal was to keep Kirill Marchenko and Zach Werenski in check to earn two big points before the end of the year. 2024-25 Regular Season, Game 3 Preview: Hurricanes at Pittsburgh Penguins

The Hurricanes found their way into the win column on Tuesday night, beating the Devils 4-2 for their first victory of the season. After allowing a goal to Jack Hughes early in the second period, the Hurricanes scored three unanswered. Seth Jarvis and Shayne Gostisbehere put the Canes ahead through 40 minutes before Jackson Blake redirected a shot midway through the third period for his first NHL goal.
